Under the prevailing policy in Hong Kong, the major types of Special Educational Needs (SEN) include hearing impairment, visual impairment, physical disabilities, intellectual disability, attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorders, speech and language impairment, as well as specific learning difficulties. The Education Bureau provides school-age children who have SEN with educational support, aiming to develop their potential to the fullest.
